OnceMore®

Södra's OnceMore® is an innovation in the textile industry. This Swedish is an iniciative industrial-scale process to recycle fabrics containing fibre blends. This brand combines this recycled material with cellulose from wood (from responsibly managed forests) to produce solvent pulp of textile quality.

It allows for the industrial-scale recycling of these fabrics by separating and recovering the cotton, turning it into new textile fibers. This helps reduce landfill waste, lowers the need for virgin cotton, and supports a more circular and sustainable fashion industry.

When launched in 2019, OnceMore® had only \~3 % recycled textile content. Now it is already at \~20 % recycled textile content and 80 % renewable wood, but their target is to reach 50 % recycled textile \+ 50 % wood.
