Azlon
Description
Azlon is a synthetic fiber made from proteins found in natural sources like soy. The raw material is turned into a liquid, which is then pushed through tiny holes in a device called a to create fibers. These fibers are stretched to line up their molecules for added strength. However, Azlon tends to be weaker when it’s wet.
What problem it solves
This material is not widely produced today, but it has a few commercial applications mixed with other materials.
