AKROMID® NEXT fibres

Description

AKROMID® NEXT is a new generation of nylon materials developed by German company AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH, combining high technical performance with a lower environmental impact. Unlike traditional nylons, it's made using , -balanced, or chemically recycled raw materials, making it a more sustainable choice. With different formulations—like PA 6.9, PA 5.6, or PA 11—it can be tailored for strength, stiffness, moisture resistance, or thermal stability, depending on the need.

What problem it solves

AKROMID® NEXT helps reduce the environmental impact of high-performance plastics by replacing fossil-based raw materials with or recycled alternatives. It supports industries that need strong, durable materials—like automotive or electronics—while significantly lowering carbon emissions. By offering a more sustainable nylon alternative, it also helps move technical textiles toward a greener future.

Interesting properties

It comes in the form of and can be reinforced with glass or carbon fibers, making it ideal for high-performance applications in sectors like automotive, electronics, sports, and technical textiles. Some versions can even be processed into fibers, allowing it to be used in sustainable fabrics that offer the durability of nylon—but with a much lower carbon footprint.
