MyFi

Description

This European aims to create myco-fibres with up to 90% . Using leftover materials, they make fabrics with very low CO2 emissions, using little energy from renewable sources, and recycling most of the water. It shows how we can make sustainable fabrics that are good for both people and the planet.

What problem it solves

MYFI solves several problems in textiles and sustainability. It reduces waste by using residues as raw materials and avoids harmful chemical processes.

Interesting properties

and its derivatives are usually made from shellfish waste using chemical treatments. This process uses a lot of energy and creates toxic waste, which makes it harder to use chitin fibres in some products.
