CellTexx®
Description
CellTexx® is a sustainable material made from recycled cotton-based textiles, giving old clothes a second life. Developed by Australian company BlockTexx®, it’s created through their innovative S.O.F.T. (Separation of Fibre Technology) process, which separates cotton and polyester from blended fabrics. The recovered cotton becomes CellTexx®, a regenerated cellulose material, while the polyester is turned into PolyTexx®, a recycled polyester in pellet form.
What problem it solves
CellTexx® helps tackle the huge problem of textile waste, especially from blended fabrics that are hard to recycle. By recovering cotton from discarded clothing, it reduces landfill pollution, saves natural resources, and supports a circular textile economy. It also gives new value to materials that would otherwise be thrown away.
Interesting properties
The main objective of CellTexx® is to close the textile cycle, preventing tons of clothing from ending up in landfills. This type of innovation is part of the circular economy in the fashion and textile industry.
